If you are having these issues, there must be someting wrong with your set up. I have been using it for several months now and everything works just fine. I suggest you set up a test page and get it working there first before putting it on your live site.
I found out that the canned messages and smilies are only available on the browser version, not the Air version, so I've gone back to using the browser version.
(Vasily - can you put the canned messages in the Air version? Thanks.)
